ICAO Annex 14 230V AC + 48V DC Twin Dome NMS Fault Alarm Model AV-04-ADDD-A

Low Intensity Type B — Dual Voltage with Fault Monitoring

ICAO-compliant twin-dome aviation light with a separate alarm panel. Accepts both 230V AC and 48V DC — continues operating from battery bank during mains failure. NMS alarm on power fail or light fail.

Spaceage Dual Voltage Type B Aviation Light with Fault Monitoring

Single-Supply Lights Fail When Mains Fails

Many sites use 230V AC aviation lights. When mains power fails and there is a generator startup delay (or generator failure), the aviation light goes dark — making the tower non-compliant and creating a safety hazard. Additionally, if the only installed light fails, it may go unnoticed for days. The Dual Voltage with Fault Monitoring model solves both problems simultaneously.

Dual Power Input

Takes both 230V AC and 48V DC simultaneously. AC mains preferred. On mains failure, 48V DC battery bank takes over automatically — no gap in compliance.

Light Fault Detection

Alarm panel monitors current consumption. If below ~65% of rated value, 'light fail' NMS alarm is raised via potential-free NO/NC contacts.

Power Fail Alarm

If both AC mains and DC input fail, 'power fail' NMS potential-free contacts are activated for immediate centralised alerting.

Twin Dome

Two domes on a single unit, both ON simultaneously (<6W). Special J-plate/J-clamp mounting — no welding or drilling required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Unlike single-supply lights, this model accepts both 230V AC and 48V DC simultaneously. When mains fails, the light continues operating on 48V DC from the telecom battery bank — no gap in aviation marking. The panel generates a 'power fail' NMS alarm but the light stays on.

The alarm panel monitors current consumption of the aviation lights. If current drops below ~65% of rated value (significant LED failure), it generates a 'light fail' NMS alarm via potential-free NO/NC contacts. If both AC mains and DC input fail, a 'power fail' NMS alarm is also raised.

The control panel includes LED indicators for: Mains Power ON, Light ON, and Light FAIL. The panel is wall-mounted inside the shelter. An external LDR photocell handles day/night switching with manual override also available.
